Dear Friends and Family,

Christy has two notes taped to the top of her desk at home that encourage both of us when we need it. One is a computer printed note our friend and ministry co-worker, Rick Ingle, sent to us in an anniversary card. It reads, “Trust me, I have everything under control, Jesus!” When we received that note, we had no idea how prophetic it would be. Our lives drastically changed when Bro. Information About the Newberrys

  • Paul and Christy Newberry have sung in over 1,000 churches across the United States, sharing their music ministry in concerts, revivals, conferences and camps.  Paul and Christy have been blending their voices together in song and traveling on the road full-time for over 35 years, taking part in pioneer mission work in Ohio, Montana, South Dakota, New York, Massachusetts, Minnesota and Wisconsin.  They have also participated in mission trips to Canada, Brazil, Ukraine and Crimea.

  • Paul and Christy were married in 1978, while students in college at Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, TX. They both sang together in the WBU International Choir and The Spirit of America Singers, traveling throughout Europe and the Holy Lands as members of these groups. In addition to this, Paul along with college buddies, David Hunt and Barry Feriend, formed a group called The Country Boys. This trio still sings and plays guitar, banjo, bass, mandolin and keyboard together when their schedules permit, for banquets and concerts in and around the north Texas area.

  • Paul sings tenor and plays acoustic guitar and 5 string banjo. He was a member of the Texas All State Choir in high school and holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Wayland Baptist University and a Master of Music degree from Hardin-Simmons University. Paul also served on staff as Music and Youth Minister for 6 years in Texas Baptist churches before entering full-time music evangelism in 1981.

  • Christy sings alto and plays guitar and keyboard. Following high school, she traveled and sang on two summer tours with the Continental Singers to Europe and South Africa. Christy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hardin-Simmons University and has traveled twice to Eastern Europe to sing and teach "English Dynamics Courses" with the Michael Gott Evangelism Team in Poltava and Kremenchuk, Ukraine.

  • Since entering music evangelism in 1981, the Newberrys have been members of the Conference of Texas Baptist Evangelists. Paul has served as Music Director of COTBE from 1989-1991 and 2014-2015. Christy has served as Secretary/Treasurer of COTBE from 1996-2000 and as Assistant Music Director from 2014-2015. Paul has also served as Music Director of the Conference of Southern Baptist Evangelists in 1997-1998. He is also an active member of the Singing Men of Texas, a group of over 100 music ministers that sing in concert together each month in churches all across north central Texas. Paul and Christy have traveled twice with the Singing Men of Texas on mission trips to Ukraine and Crimea.

  • The Newberrys have been featured on WTKK television in Washington, D.C. and KRVP television in Roswell, N.M., as well as a number of local radio programs. Paul and Christy have sung on Afterglow during the Southern Baptist Convention, the Texas Baptist Evangelism Conference and the SBTC Empower Conference. Paul has also lead music at the Texas Baptist Evangelism Conference in Ft. Worth. Paul and Christy have made 5 gospel recordings together over the years, 4 of which are available on compact disk. When they are not traveling on the road, the Newberrys reside in Arlington, TX, where they are members at Fielder Road Baptist Church.

Financial Policy and Travel Accommodations:

Our financial policy is to come on a love-offering or honorarium basis. In addition to the this, we ask churches to reimburse us for our fuel costs and provide us with lodging at a local motel, if possible, during our stay.
